Ideal for schools:
The lollipop method is a non-invasive, and therefore child-friendly, sample collection method that provides sensitive detection of SARS-CoV-2. Instead of spitting out saliva, the lollipop test only requires placing a swab under the tongue for approximately 10 seconds to complete saliva sample collection
Qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19 antigens
The COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test is a lateral flow immunoassay method for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid antigens from individuals suspected of having COVID-19 infection.
For this purpose, a saliva sample is collected and applied to a test cassette. The test works on the lateral flow principle and indicates within 15 minutes whether COVID-19 antigens could be detected in the sample. After 30 minutes, the displayed result is invalid.
Certified and reimbursable test listed at the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices according to the Coronavirus Test Regulation (TestV): List of Antigen Tests - Test ID: AT108/21, File number of the special approval of the BfArM, for self-administration by lay persons (self-tests): 5640-S-032/21.
- Result after 15 minutes
- Reliable exclusion of Sars-CoV-2 infection with high accuracy
- Can be performed using a saliva sample
- The test is designed as a point of care (POC). No equipment is required, all consumables are included
The Antigen Rapid Test, unlike an antibody test, can directly detect the causative agent of COVID-19, the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. It detects the proteins of the virus (the antigens). These are found in saliva when the virus replicates there. Similar to the PCR test, the antigen rapid test is therefore sensitive, especially in the initial phase of the infection. Similar to the PCR test, it can also indicate a viral infection before symptoms appear.
