ROCHE SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Self Test for Individuals
The Roche SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Self Test has been specifically designed for self-testing. Now this has received its special approval for Corona self-tests in Germany as of 01 March 2021. It is thus freely available and not subject to prescription; proof of prior medical training and the like is not required.
The RKI sees the use of Corona tests for self-testing as an important complementary measure to contain the pandemic. If performed correctly as well as in a timely manner, rapid and self-reliant intervention can help slow the spread and break chains of infection. Health departments are relieved and it is easier to trace contacts quickly.
Test quickly and easily at home with Corona self-tests
Just as reliable as other rapid coronavirus antigen tests, this test from Roche impresses with its high sensitivity and specificity. In addition, it is particularly easy to perform and convenient for the patient. The required sample is taken from the anterior nasal region (nasal swab). Unpleasant side effects such as strangulation, coughing or sneezing, which are caused by a nasopharyngeal swab, are thus eliminated.
All necessary materials as well as step-by-step instructions for self-application are also included in the scope of delivery. This also ensures that user errors are reduced to a minimum at this point. The test results are available after 15 minutes.
If the test result is positive, you should stop any contact as soon as possible and remain in self-contained isolation at home. Afterwards, contact your family doctor, who will inform you about the next steps.
